Tonight

Tonight my girl and I painted our toes together for the very first time. A first for Naomi, I think, I am pretty sure. Then we brushed our teeth, got Jammie's on and read our story. Tonight I chose The Birthday Monsters because tomorrow is her big day. She will be three and she can even say it.

As I kissed her goodnight and said I love you I remembered that someone else gave birth to her. Her China mom, I pray and wish that she knows how much her daughter is loved, that I kiss those little toes and hold her when she is sad. That her daughter laughs when she gets tickled or makes a funny noise. That she has plenty of food and a warm bed. She has one big brother that will do just about anything to make her happy and another that likes to call her peanut, he loves her too but also like to push her little buttons. A Daddy who adores her and loves to teach her to give big strong hugs. A YeYe who calls her sweetie and grandparents and aunts, uncles and tons of friends who love her.

I am off to wrap her gifts and get ready for her special day. No party tomorrow that will be in a couple weeks but a day to celebrate our daughter turning 3.

  2. Happy Birthday Sweet Naomi!! Your little piggies look so pretty.

Birthdays are really tough...I know. I had chills reading your post because I feel the same way. I pray for our Rao girl's birth mama's that somehow they are at peace and sense that their daughter's are loved beyond imagination. That they know they are with the perfect families.

I look at Halainah often and wish somehow I could let her birth mama know how beautiful, smart, full of life and funny she is. I choose to believe that somehow she does.

I can't believe that Naomi is 3...and Halainah will soon follow in November. Oh time flies way too quickly!

oh...and to answer your question. Once we have our LID we can be matched as soon as the next special needs list comes out if there is a child that matches. It could be a month...it could be a year. Who knows!!

I can't wait to see pics. of your birthday girl in a couple of weeks!!
