Saturday Night Picnic

We had a lovely evening as a family. I love spending time with my family. We ate dinner at the park then ventured down to the beach. It was peaceful (as peaceful at it can be with 2 boys and a little sister) It always seems like a treat when we go out together even amongst all the chaos.

Daddy and his girl. Trying to get Naomi to sit for 2 seconds and eat her dinner was impossible. She sure had fun and that was the point.

My boys watching the wind surfers after dinner

Walking back to the car. I am starting to think the only way to get a picture of everyone is from behind.

Spanish Student

We have a student from Madrid staying with us for a couple of weeks. She arrived safely last night. We took it easy today, went to a park with a cool playground and a great view of the city.

School is out . . .

and summer time is here. The boys started VBS and swimming lessons this week. I am excited, this is my first summer without working. To be honest a bit frighted too, what will we do all summer. My hope is lots of time at the beach and exploring our city (kind of a vacation in Seattle) we often forget that we have so many cool things to do right here.

We are excited to have our first international student staying with us for 3 weeks, she is flying in from Spain on Wednesday.

Fathers Day

Our first fathers day as a family of five. We spent the morning at the skate park.

Pete brought his board too.

Thanie at the TOP of the climbing wall.

Later in the day we went to Aunty Kim's for a fathers day feast. Naomi running like crazy.

I am blessed to be married to a man that is a great dad. I love you Pete

She Did It!!

Naomi slept in her own room last night. She helped me push her crib into her room yesterday afternoon (it has been in our room since we got her), we talked about how it was her room and her toys and her bed . . . then she took a nap. She is up there right now snoozing away. Bitter sweet.

Sick Kid

Poor little man has been running a 104 degree temperature today. He feels horrible, looks pitiful but is awful sweet.

My Little Graduate

Look at him, I think I might eat him up, such a sweet fellow. He is on his way to kindergarten in September. I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast. He is exceeding all of our expectations by leaps and bounds.

Diploma and all . . . They sang songs for us, and my shy little guy sang loud and clear. We will miss his wonderful teachers. This is a great program. Thanie went from quiet and shy to confident and alive. What a great year!!!

Today . . .

I walked into my house and saw this (as I always do) but in the mirror was me holding my sleeping baby girl. I remembered how long and painful it was waiting for her. There she was sound asleep in her mamma's arms, from a morning of . . .

water pots at Grandmas house.

HOW GRATEFUL I AM!!!

6 months ago today . . .

We left China, Naomi's birth place. An amazing adventure that I will always cherish.

Our family of five was united. (pardon my cry face)

As you can see Naomi took to her brother right away, they were pretty smitten with her.

Daddy's girl, day one, moment one

Today . . . can't imagine life without her. Thank you God!!!

Update

Surgery went well today. Aspen is home from the hospital/vet and doing fine. Glad to have her home. A huge weight has been lifted. I never seem to know how much things stress me out until life is o.k. again.
